Tools for organising events

Registrations can be collected in many different services. Webropol is simple, and among the most common ones. Blackthorn (a Salesforce tool) can do much more than that. Read more on the page below.

You can find the Events team’s contact details here.

Liveto – for virtual events

The virtual event platform Liveto supports presenting and hosting academic meetings and conferences online, offering Aalto faculty the possibility to keep up with academic networks and offer high-standard collaboration tools for our new way of working.

Services

Developing our campus experience

Our campus experience services aim to attract visitors to the campus—especially first-time visitors—and to give them a memorable impression of Aalto University through a campus tour, visit, exhibition or event. Visitors may include prospective students or employees, study councillors, donors, alumni, diplomats, corporate partners or investors.

You can find the Campus Experience team’s contact details here.

Exhibitions

We arrange two major exhibitions per year. One in the spring with varying themes, and Designs for a Cooler Planet in the fall.

Campus tours and visits

We host campus visits for VIP guests, high school students, study counsellors, or anyone interested in our campus and studying at Aalto University.

Marsio

Marsio is an open meeting space, event and exhibition venue, enabler of interdisciplinary research and art. Marsio events are facilitated by Communications services.

Aalto University Shop

Aalto University Shop sells unique products and artwork designed by our students and alumni, as well as Aalto University-branded products.

You can also order products as business gifts or for internal use (e.g. the Aalto Kit for new employees), either in store or online. Sign in with HAKA login and select the ‘Internal order’ option in the shopping basket. Aalto students and staff receive a 10% discount on full‑price items (excluding student and alumni works and gift cards).

The Shop staff can also help with designing and ordering branded products for a conference or special occasions.

Student ambassadors and campus guides

Student ambassadors are Aalto students, who visit high schools and fairs to talk about Aalto and university studies through their own personal experiences. Campus guides lead visiting school groups to the most interesting places of the campus while sharing information about the campus and their studies at Otaniemi.

Events, fairs, and webinars for potential students

We organise events, fairs, and webinars that give potential students the chance to meet Aalto University students and staff in Finland and around the world, year-round, online and offline.

Aalto University Art Collection

Aalto University uses one percent of building costs to fund art. The purpose of public art is to embrace the connections between art and science, to create imaginative surroundings for study and work and to make you simply wonder. The art works is to encourage each viewer to investigate, to stop for a moment to experience art in busy everyday life. Art Collection is managed and curated by Communications Services.

Communications to Finnish study counsellor

We organise high school visits, campus tours and webinars for Finnish study counsellor.

We also publish a newsletter in Finnish 5-6 times a year.

A! Walk

A! Walks is a summer course centered around walking-based learning, exploring Otaniemi campus and its surrounding urban–natural spaces. Rather than standalone lectures or experiments, the program is designed as a curated sequence of sensory, interdisciplinary walks, guiding participants toward experiences in coexistence, awareness, action, and futures. If successful, A! Walks may be continued during the regular semester.
