Programme director's handbook

Introduction to degree programme management

As the director of a degree programme (hereafter programme director), you are one of Aalto University's key academic leaders. You are responsible for the strategic planning, management, and development of your degree programme. Programme directors strengthen the sense of community within the programme and promote the pedagogical well-being of both students and the teaching community.

Support for your work as a programme director comes primarily from your school’s Learning Services (LES) unit. In addition, the university-level services provide support, for example, for programme marketing, curriculum work, as well as for evaluation and development.
