Aalto University provides its employees with both statutory occupational health care and occupational health physician services. Statutory occupational health care includes preventive health care. The occupational health care services are provided by Terveystalo.
Feeling at Home activities such as Aalto Club trips and Experiencing Finland event's only purpose is to have fun and meet new colleagues. In addition you get familiar with some finnish traditions and way of life. Most of the Feeling at Home -events are open to your family members as well. Aalto University provides sport services for staff and students at UniSport for reduced price. There is a vast selection of different sports courses and events in Töölö and Otaniemi campuses and also in four Helsinki University campuses in Helsinki city center, Meilahti, Kumpula and Viikki. Aalto 10 km & 5 km -event
Aalto 10 km & 5km sports event is held on September every year. Event is meant for Aalto’s staff, students and alumni. Each year over 1500-1600 participants runs or walks the 10 km & 5 km races!
Participation to Aalto 10 km & 5 km is free of charge for Aalto community.
Aalto University encourages staff and visitors to study Finnish. The university organizes each semester basic Finnish language courses for the staff. Also spouses may participate in the classes if there are available seats. More detailed information here.
Finnish courses for students are available for staff as well if there are free places: Aalto University Language Centre.
Our community in the evolving and lively Otaniemi campus in Espoo is a buzzing collaboration hub, giving you opportunities to be inspired and learn something new every day. Along with all the food for thought, the campus is home to a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars. There are several cafeterias for staff members and students, in which Aalto staff get discounts for meals in the cafeterias. See the menus.
