As Open University studies, you can complete individual courses and parts of a university degree, i.e., study modules (minors). On this page you will find the study modules that can be completed through the Open University. Modules are available in the fields of technology and business. In the field of arts, only individual courses are available. The course offering varies by term.
Registration for courses included in a module is done by registering each course separately. There is no separate registration for the module. You will always find the registration period for each course in its course description. If the course description does not specify prerequisites, you may take the courses in a module in any order you wish.
Once you have completed a study module, you can ask it to be registered. Open University will check your completed studies and register the module. After the registration you will receive a transcript of records that shows both the completed module and all your other studies completed at Aalto University. Processing usually takes 1–2 weeks.
• Fill in the Open University registration form to have the study module registered after you have completed all the courses included in the module.
• Indicate on the form the courses you have completed as part of the module.
• Note that study modules cannot later be altered, which means that courses cannot be added to or removed from a module after it has been recorded as completed.
• Submit the form only once you are satisfied with your grades and do not wish to add courses to the module.
