The Economics programme provides tools and knowledge to understand and explain current phenomena in the world from an economic perspective.

The Bachelor’s Programme in International Business provides students with a comprehensive range of skills and knowledge to build, develop and lead companies on a global scale. Strategic management in a changing world, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

Strategic Management in a Changing World is a unique Master’s programme that teaches students how to develop effective strategy in a rapidly changing world. Graduates are analytical decision-makers who can identify valuable business opportunities by evaluating of complex global megatrends such as sustainability, digitalization, and globalization. To action these new opportunities, the programme teaches students how to bring an entrepreneurial mindset into their organizations.

People Management and Organizational Development, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

The Master’s Programme in People Management and Organizational Development
provides students with expert knowledge and the analytical, communication and teamworking skills needed to help organizations to develop their operations successfully and sustainably. Upon graduation students work in expert and leadership roles in the fields of human resource management and organizational development. The programme further offers students a unique chance to complete a double degree programme with the University of Queensland (AU) or University of South Carolina (US). The programme is run in close collaboration with business, public organizations and NGOs. Thus, the programme offers students the latest knowledge in people management and organizational development in rapidly changing world of work and organizations.

Business Analytics, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

Studying in the Master’s Programme in Business Analytics gives students a unique combination of skills in leadership, business, and technology. Programme graduates are future leaders of the digital and sustainable era. The programme provides students with in-depth knowledge in data-based decision-making and analytics and allows them to specialise in different business domains.

The School of Business offers altogether eleven exciting English-taught Master's programmes to select from – and one taught in Finnish.

Choose a multidisciplinary programme like Creative Sustainability or IDBM, in which you do courses and study with students from Aalto's technical schools and the School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

Or select a management programme like Global Management (including CEMS MIM), People Management and Organizational Development, Strategic Management in a Changing World, or Information and Service Management.

Or pick a specialist programme, such as Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, or Marketing

We also teach one Master's programme in Finnish, namely Yritysjuridiikan maisteriohjelma (Business Law)

Creative Sustainability, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

The Creative Sustainability (CS) programme provides students with the skills and knowledge to address pressing global sustainability challenges through business. Students with different backgrounds are united by the creative solutions, hands-on methodologies and shared values that characterise the programme. Graduates are well-prepared for leadership positions that require harnessing business understanding to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

International Design Business Management, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

IDBM is a pioneering and renowned study programme that truly embodies the vision of Aalto by integrating design and technology with global business development. Through transdisciplinary teamwork and real-life business challenges provided by our prominent industry partners, the programme prepares students as the next generation of creative professionals. IDBM is uniquely positioned as the only programme offered in all six schools of Aalto, allowing programme graduates to earn a Master’s degree in either business, design or technology.

Global Management, Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)

The Master’s programme in Global Management prepares students to operate responsibly and successfully in influential decision-maker positions in a globalized environment. The programme develops students’ knowledge and skills in strategy, business development, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding. The programme incorporates CEMS Master’s in International Management.

The Master’s Programme in Accounting prepares students for producing and using financial and non-financial information to control and manage companies. Admission to the Bachelor's Programme in International Business, Bachelor (Mikkeli) and Master (Otaniemi) of Science in Economics and Business Administration (3 yrs + 2 yrs)

The application period for Bachelor’s Programme in International Business is from 8 to 23 January 2025. Studies start in August-September 2025.

Applicants are selected to pursue a BSc degree (Econ. and Bus. Admin.) in the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business at the School of Business Mikkeli Campus and a MSc degree (Econ. and Bus. Admin.) in one of the School of Business Master’s programmes at the Otaniemi Campus.

Admission to the Bachelor’s Programme in Economics, Bachelor and Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (3 + 2 years)

The application period for Aalto Bachelor's Programme in Economics (taught in English) is from 8 to 23 January 2025. Studies start in August-September 2025. Applicants are selected to complete the degrees Bachelor and Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration. Admission is based on either SAT/ACT test results or grades obtained in Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB or RP/DIA degree.

It is also possible to apply on the basis of performance in Talousguru competition, Finnish National High School Mathematics Competition or Datatähti contest (the application period is from 11 to 25 March 2025).

Admission to Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (2 yrs)

The admissions to Master's programmes at Aalto University in the field of Business and Economics are organised once a year. The application period for studies starting in autumn 2019 is from 3 December 2018 to 11 January 2019.
