Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture offers doctoral studies in the fields of architecture, art, design, media, film and scenography.
The normative time to take the degree for full-time doctoral students is four years.
Annually more than 15 Doctors of Arts and one or two Doctors of Science (Architecture) are graduating. Aalto University's research information portal gives information about doctoral students and their research projects. You can also find dissertations through Aaltodoc publication archive.

The main purpose of doctoral education at the Aalto Doctoral Programme in Arts, Design and Architecture is to teach the doctoral candidate to create new knowledge via scentific and artistic methods and theories. Admission to the Aalto Doctoral Programme in Arts, Design and Architecture is organized annually in March for studies starting in September.
