  1. Find out information about the available courses. Read the course descriptions carefully before registration. Take notice if the content and timetable are suitable for you, and how much your attendance at lectures is needed. Some courses also require preliminary knowledge or studies. Check also the possibility to compile minor studies.
  2. Use the Aimo Service to register for the Open University courses. At first register as user, then you will get an Aimo username that you will need to register for courses and related exams. Selection criteria for courses is the order of registrations. Registration is always binding for a certain course. Therefore it is not possible to change the course fee for another course.
  3. After registration you can activate an Aalto IT  identity and user account. You will need it to log in eg. to MyCourses learning environment and to WebOodi student information system, where you can find your personal student number and check your study results.
  4. Actual study begins with the first lecture and/or with the instructions the teacher gives for the course. Separate invitations will not be sent, you can find information about timetables or teaching methods in the course description. In some courses there might be preliminary assignments or exam, this information can also be found in course description. Aalto University Learning Centre is the place you can ask for coursebooks and literature.
  5. If the course has exams, you don’t have to register for the first exam, but for the retakes the registration takes place in Aimo Service with Aimo username and password. The payment of an independent book exam concerns only one exam.
  6. Results of exams and passed courses are recorded in study information system WebOodi. You can download or order a transcript of records of your studies. Please check after four weeks of the course/exam your results, if there is something to remark.
