ARK.trai Training 1-15 ects (1 credit correspond to 80 hours of work)
The aim of the optional training is to provide the student with the necessary skills in working
life when applying theoretical knowledge to practical solutions. During the internship, the
student does the work of an architect under supervision. Work done in an architectural or
interior design office or in the public administration of the field, in accordance with one's
own field of study, is accepted as a professional internship. The internship requires
independent participation in and assistance in planning tasks. The work tasks must be related
to the architect's job description. As a general rule, the supervisor must be an architect,
landscape architect or interior architect, and in public administration also a zoning engineer
or the like.
Optional training max. 15 ects (for students who follow 2022-2024 degree structure, for others 12 ects) may be accepted for the degree of architect. Acceptance of optional training is case-by-case.
The condition for approving the training is that the
student prepares a free-form internship report.
The appropriate length of the report is 2-3
A4 pages and should typically include e.g. general remarks on the architect's job role and task
management, organization and its structure, occupational safety and health, etc. In the report,
the student also evaluates the development of his / her own skills and the learning that has
taken place during the internship / work.
Documents and delivery method returned from the training
1. Free-form training report
2. Traineeship report available at the front page
3. Signed work certificate. The certificate states e.g. employer, duration of internship and job
duties.
The documents listed above will be submitted to the study coordinator of major of
Architecture by email. The internship is approved by the professor whose field of study the
work is mainly related to, and the student may include the training in the elective studies of
