Learning Centre opening hours during Christmas and year-end holidays

There will be several exceptions to the opening and service hours of the Learning Centre from December 15th to January 6th.

Customer service

The Learning Centre's customer service desk will be open from Dec 15th to 19th, between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM.

The customer service desk will be closed from Dec 22nd to Jan 2nd, as well as on Epiphany, Jan 6th. Starting Monday, Jan 5th, regular opening hours will be resumed.

Inquiries, service requests and feedback can be sent via email to oppimiskeskus@aalto.fi. We strive to respond to messages as quickly as possible.

Building and facilities

The building is open from Dec 15th to 19th, between 7:45 AM and 3:30 PM. 

It will be fully closed from Dec 22nd to Jan 2nd, and on Epiphany, Jan 6th. Starting Monday, Jan 5th, the building and facilities will resume their regular hours, opening from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM.

Aalto University students and staff have access to the building (1st, 2nd, and K-floors) every day from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outside of the Learning Centre opening hours, Aalto members are able to access the building through the C-door, which is located on the Otaniementie side of the building. This door can be opened using the Aalto access token.

Borrowing, reserving and returning printed materials

Loans will not have due dates from Dec 22nd to Jan 7th, and pickup dates of reservations are extended until Jan 7th. During building’s closing hours, loans can be returned to a drop-box. The book drop-box is located on Otaniementie side (the café entrance on the 1st floor).

Electronic recources

The Learning Centre offers access to a wide variety of electronic resources, available remotely for all Aalto University members.

Interlibrary service and book acquisitions

The interlibrary loan and book acquisition services will be partially on a holiday break from Dec 22nd to Jan 7th. Orders are processed by order of arrival. Please be prepared for longer delivery times than usual.
