A career counselling psychologist specializes in career management issues and supports you in career and life planning, and transition to work. Career counselling supports you in self-knowledge, building a meaningful career, identifying opportunities, and making decisions. Book an appointment by email. |
| Starting Point of Wellbeing |
The Starting Point of Wellbeing offers students easy access to counselling and advice on matters of well-being and study ability. Drop-in individual guidance available without appointment. |
| Ombudspersons |
The ombudspersons are volunteer professors with solid experience of academic practices, whom doctoral students can contact in confidence when they have challenges related to their doctoral research but for one reason or another do not wish to discuss the matter with their supervising professor or thesis advisor. | Personal guidance in information skills |
Aalto University students and staff can book a session for personal guidance in information skills with a Library Services specialist. We especially recommend this service for those conducting research at different stages of their studies. The information skills guidance session aims to help with selecting information sources, making searching for and evaluating information easier, and/or to providing tools for information management. You can contact the Aalto chaplains whenever you want to speak to someone in confidence about anything related to work, personal relationships or your life situation in general. You can also turn to them if you need help in finding others who share your religion. Book a discussion time by email or telephone. |
| Doctoral researchers in an employment relationship who are members of a trade union: Shop stewards |
The shop steward helps and advises employees in issues related to the employment relationship and provides guidance on labour legislation and on issues concerning the treatment of employees. They can act as a support person in conflicts between an individual employee and the employer if the employee belongs to the trade union represented by the shop steward. You can contact the shop steward by telephone or arrange a meeting by email. |

| Workshops on writing article thesis summary |
Monthly workshops are available in both Finnish and English. The workshop centres on the key elements of a doctoral thesis and focuses on the structure of the integrative summary.
