We focus on creating new scientific knowledge that is relevant for creating new technology-based businesses, scaling such businesses, and transforming existing businesses. Our research is mostly done in collaboration with companies, in the following research areas.

Operations management

Key questions: How do you organize, build and scale operations and systems that are efficient and best contribute to the organization’s goals and competitive advantage? How to take advantage of the latest technological developments to increase efficiency in producing outputs, be they goods or services?

Organization development and leadership

Key questions: How can companies grow and prosper while simultaneously preserving their adaptability, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset? What are the key elements to build a high-performing company culture? How can technology support this?

Strategy

Key questions: How do you identify, formulate and implement actionable steps that improve or sustain business performance and competitive advantage? What are the choices you need to make to adapt the organization and take advantage of key developments?

Technology entrepreneurship

Key questions: How do you validate a business idea and turn it into a successful venture? How do you channel new technologies and innovations into new products? And how do you scale the organization, once product-market-fit has been achieved?
