Jens Schmidt is Associate Professor, Strategic Management at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University, School of Science. He is also Director of the Master’s Program in Industrial Engineering and Management. He has obtained a Doctor of Science (Tech) degree from Aalto University in 2012 and has been a visiting scholar at University of St.Gallen, Copenhagen Business School and Frankfurt School of Finance and management. 

He is interested in the cognitive micro-foundations of strategy and in demand-side and ecosystem approaches to strategic management. His research has been published in leading management journals, including Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management and Management Science. In 2010 he received the Glueck Best Paper Award for the best paper presented at the Academy of Management Meetings, Strategy Division (best of ~700 submitted). He has won numerous awards as a reviewer, including the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Strategy Division every year (except for one) since 2013. Since 2016 he has served on the editorial review board of the Academy of Management Review.
