Once Home to Us by Olli Majalahti

The installation forms a tetralogy perceived from an animal’s point of view. The first three chapters, presented as posters, were done during the first week of the course in the forests of Koli.
In the fourth chapter, Once Home to Us, animals respond to failed attempts at collaboration with humans by revealing what it means when human practices colonize their habitats. Since World War II, clear-cutting has been (and still is) the most popular tree-harvesting method in Finland.
