Student targeting

Get to know the different fields taught in Aalto University and what skills the students bring! This information helps you target your visibility to the right student groups at the fair.

Aalto Talent Expo and Summer Job Day career events are marketed to the students via digital and print channels. Marketing is heavily based on targeted lists for each student group, so please make sure that you have selected all of your main target groups! The selections are made at the registration form and you can edit the selections up to the registration deadline.

The primary channel for fair marketing and communication is the Aalto JobTeaser platform. JobTeaser is Aalto University's Career Services’ portal, where students can find university's career guidance and events, employers' pages and job ads all in the same place.  More detailed instructions for using JobTeaser can be found here: Aalto JobTeaser instructions for exhibitors | Aalto University

Aalto University's recruitment events bring together students from the Aalto University's fields of business, technology, art and design. We aim to enhance and enable the encounters of employers and students at the fair and therefore at the registration form you can choose the students you are most interested in connecting with.

You can choose:

  • which School's students are your main target group (School codes)
  • do you hire non-Finnish speaking students (en-sign)
  • do you offer thesis positions (thesis sign) and
  • do you have positions for doctors (DOC sign)

We target our student marketing according to your selections and the selections will be also visible on your stand at the fair to make it easier for students to find the right exhibitors for them!

The introductions below are crafted especially for employers and the idea is to present each school from employment's point of view. The information marked with an asterisk (*) have been collected from the national Master's Career Survey and you can read more detailed information about the career data from each School through the links.

School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ARTS)

The School of Arts, Design and Architecture is a Nordic leader in higher education for design, fashion, games, media, architecture, film, art education and art. 

ARTS graduates hold positions such as architect, creative director, designer, editor, fashion designer, game designer, graphic designer, interior/landscape architect, service designer and UX designer. *

Their skills include, among others, the ability to learn and adopt new things, self-direction or initiative, problem-solving skills, co-operation skills, and stress tolerance. *

School of Business (BIZ)

The School of Business is one of the leading business schools in Europe providing education and research on accounting and business law, information and service management, marketing, management studies, finance and economics.

BIZ graduates hold positions such as business controller, consultant, business development manager, data/business analyst, project manager, sustainability manager, associate, digital marketing manager and finance manager. *

Their skills, among others, include ability to learn and adopt new things, problem-solving skills, self-direction or initiative, analytical and systematic thinking skills and co-operation skills. *

School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM)

The teaching and research of the School of Chemical Engineering focuses on forest industry technologies, chemical engineering, industrial biotechnology, materials science and nanotechnology, metal and mineral processing, and energy technology. 

CHEM graduates hold positions such as analyst, consultant, development engineer, process engineer, project manager, sustainability expert, and quality assurance specialist. *

Their skills, among others,  include problem-solving skills, ability to learn and adopt new things, communication in English, analytical and systematic thinking skills, and organisational and coordination skills. 

School of Electrical Engineering (ELEC)

The teaching and research of the School of Electrical Engineering aims at finding solutions to issues related to sustainable development and human well-being. 

ELEC graduates hold positions such as automation engineer, consultant, data analyst, electricity market expert, product manager, robotics engineer, software designer, test engineer and quality specialist. *

Their skills, among others,  include problem-solving skills, analytical and systematic thinking skills, ability to learn and adopt new things, communication in English, and information retrieval skills. *

School of Engineering (ENG)

The teaching and research of the School of Engineering focuses on in the fields of mechanical engineering, civil engineering and built environment. 

ENG graduates hold positions such as consultant, construction management expert, data analyst, HVAC/mechanical engineer, product development engineer, project manager, real estate management expert, site engineer and sustainability expert.*

Their skills, among others,  include ability to learn and adopt new things, problem-solving skills, self-direction or initiative, analytical and systematic thinking skills, and information retrieval skills. 

School of Science (SCI)

The teaching and research of the School of Science focuses on in the fields of advanced energy solutions, condensed matter and material physics, creation and transformation of technology-based businesses, data science and artificial intelligence, health technology, neuroscience, and software engineering. 

SCI graduates hold positions such as data analyst, data engineer, game designer, information security specialist, investment manager, IT/management consultant, machine learning engineer, product/service manager, and software developer. *

Their skills, among others, include problem-solving skills, ability to learn and adopt new things, analytical and systematic thinking skills, information retrieval skills, and communication in English. *

Aalto University students' Master's programmes

By clicking the title you can open a list of all the Master's Programmes taught in that specific school.The links open a more specified description of the Master's Programme in question. If a Programme does not have a link, it means that it has been removed from the curriculum recently. Some students may still be studying the subject, but no new students are admitted.
