Opening a resource mailbox in Webmail - Methods 1 and 2
If you want to use a resource mailbox via Webmail and send messages in the name of the resource mailbox, select either method 1 or 2.
Method 1
1. Log in to Webmail (outlook.office.com) with your Aalto user ID (email address + password)
2. From the top right corner, under your profile photo, select Open another mailbox....
3. Type the name/address of the resource mailbox in the search field.
4. Select the correct address and click Open.
Method 2
1. You can log in to the email system directly with a Webmail address. There is no direct link for this; instead, you must write the address of the mailbox in the browser’s address field. You should save the address in the browser’s Bookmarks/Favorites, so you do not have to write it every time.
The direct Webmail address of the resource mailbox always follows the format:
https://outlook.office.com/mail/[email protected]
2. When you go to the address of the resource mailbox, the normal Webmail log-in page will open up in the window.
3. Login with your personal Aalto email address and password. Using the resource mailbox requires that you have been issued with access rights to the box in question.
Adding a resource mailbox alongside your own mailbox
You can also add a resource mailbox and display it alongside your own mailbox. After such an addition, besides your own mailbox, you will always see the resource mailbox in Webmail when you log in to Webmail with your own ID.
You can add a resource mailbox to your Webmail view as follows:
1. Log in to Webmail (outlook.office.com) with your Aalto user ID (email address + password)
2. Right-click Folders displayed in the bar on the left side.
3. Select Add shared folder.
4. Type the name/address of the resource mailbox in the search field.
5. Select the correct address and click Add.
6. After the addition has succeeded, the mailbox becomes visible in the email view, in the bar on the left side.
Please note! If you want to make the resource mailbox or another user’s Inbox visible in your own Webmail, you must have the rights to read the mailbox in question.
