When a phone is missing

When your phone is missing please act as follows:

  1. During office hours immediately inform any of the Aalto Service Desks +358 505132000 or IT Procurement team it-hankinnat@aalto.fi. We will deactivate the SIM card and give/send you a new one via internal mail. This restricts phone costs and you can continue using the same subscription using another device. You can get a backup phone from IT Servicedesk for temporary usage.
  2. Outside working hours please call the operator (Elisa technical service 010804400) and ask them to deactivate the subscription. Again, the aim is to prevent high phone costs from illegal calls and data usage. Please inform IT Servicedesks or IT procurement team it-hankinnat@aalto.fi and we will re-activate the subscrioption and send/give you a new SIM card the next business day.
  3. The missing phone can be blocked using the individual serial number of the phone (IMEI with Anroid and S/N with iOS). For this the user must file a written police report with the police (when the theft occurred abroad), and send a copy of the report to the operators (Elisa) technical service via email imei.sulku@elisa.fi. IMEI-code is found from the phone and usually from a separate card or sticker from the phones sales package. Storing the code is the phone users responsibility.
