The lifewide learning services team provides continuous learning services in various life situations. The team combines the services of the open university, the FITech network university, and the Summer School.

We serve both domestic and international students, offering the opportunity for non-degree students to study courses that fulfill Aalto University degree requirements. We organize courses for an international audience during the summer and customized study visits for groups throughout the year. Our goal is to create an educational offering that meets the needs of both individuals and the workforce.

The Open University provides education to meet the needs of the working life and continuous learning. We also offer open university route to degree studies.

The Open University enables participation in studies for all those interested in Aalto University's disciplines and teaching. We offer both individual courses and study modules. Based on open university route, one can apply to become a degree student in business or engineering. For degree students, the Open University offers the opportunity to complete some of their studies as Open University credits, providing additional course options as well as possibility to complete a minor.

Summer School

Aalto University Summer School offers two-week multidisciplinary academic courses and programs in July and August. In addition to that, we organise customised study tours for groups around the year. The courses are targeted at an international audience, and most of our course participants are degree students in foreign universities interested in gaining international experience and exploring new topics.

In autumn, the summer school team collects commercially interesting course topics and recruits teachers for the summer courses. During the spring, the team assists teachers in finalising course plans and executes applicant marketing and summer student selections during the application period (February-May). In addition, the team plans and sells customised study visits in all seasons.
