Career monitoring surveys
Aalto University Career Services follows the career development of our graduates five years after graduation. Career development monitoring is conducted as a part of a national survey on academic graduates with the Aarresaari Career Services network representing 13 Finnish universities. The information on this page is based on data deriving from this survey.
Employment of the graduates
The situation in the labour market of our Master's degree graduates according to the survey conducted five years after graduation.
Below you'll find examples of the job titles, employers and the job sector five years after graduation.

A quarter of the graduates works in small or medium-sized companies. Municipalities employ 17% of the respondents and 15% work as entrepreneurs. Large companies employ 15% of the ARTS career monitoring survey respondents of 2015.


91 % of the graduates were employed or were entrepreneurs five years after graduation. 6% of them were given a grant.
These are the most important skills needed in the current job, according to results of the career development survey conducted five years after graduation. The survey took place in autumn 2020. Most important knowledge and skills in current job are self-direction, ability to learn and adopt new things, co-operation skills, stress tolerance, creativity and problem-solving skills.
