Master’s Programme in Computer, Communication and Information Sciences (CCIS) merges all the ICT related education in Aalto University under 9 majors. Programme is jointly organized by the School of Science (SCI) and the School of Electrical Engineering (ELEC), and coordinated by the School of Science.

The programme majors are the following:

Changing your master’s programme in the School of Science

If you are a student of School of Science and want to change your master’s programme, first check whether you meet the criteria for starting studies in the programme. The criteria for transferring to the programme must be met in bachelor's degree.

Acoustics and Audio Technology, Master of Science (Technology)

The major in Acoustics and Audio Technology equips students with a fundamental understanding of human hearing, audio perception, and physics of sound. The skills they acquire enable, for example, reducing noise pollution, planning harmonic environments and designing coherent sound experiences.

Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Master of Science (Technology)

AI is transforming the world at a rapid pace. The data-intensive major in Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence provides its graduates with knowledge to stay on top of the AI revolution, and tools to deal with some of the most challenging problems of the 21st century. Be it finding new solutions to tackle climate change or better understanding the causes of epidemics, this field has an integral part to play.

Signal Processing and Data Science, Master of Science (Technology)

In the Signal Processing and Data Science major, you will learn to extract useful information, discover patterns, and make predictions from large amounts of signal or data. Tuition fees 

Tuition fee for tuition-fee students in this programme:

  • Study right started on or before 1 August 2024: 15,000 EUR / academic year
  • Study right started on or after 1 August 2025: 17,000 EUR / academic year
