Learning outcomes

After this course the student knows the basic mathematics needed in the analyses of economic models. The student also understands the basic principles of building mathematical models of economic phenomena.

Course includes the following topics:
- linear algebra
- multivariate calculus
- optimization
- consumer and firm theory
- comparative statics
- basics of dynamic models

Prerequisites

Recommended prerequisites: Principles of Economics / Taloustieteen perusteet. Compulsory courses in quantitative methods.
