Unite! online course: How to work effectively in global virtual teams?

The capacity to communicate and work effectively and appropriately together with people from different backgrounds is increasingly seen as a vital core competence for graduates. This course will enable you to establish relevant knowledge and communication skills to work effectively in Global Virtual Teams (GVTs). You will be working in small teams with students from different Unite! universities to complete the coursework. This will give you exciting learning opportunities to link the course materials with authentic teamwork experiences.

Key topics to be covered in the course

  • Key characteristics of Global Competence & Global Virtual Teams (GVTs)
  • Identifying common communication challenges (e.g. workflow, technological, and interpersonal challenges) in GVTs
  • Effective use of ‘metacommunication (i.e. communication about communication)’ in GVTs
  • Effective use of technologies in GVTs

When? 

The online course takes place Tuesdays between 22 October to 26 November 2024 at EET 10:15-12:30.
