Aalto engineering students are invited to take part in a unique international study trip through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium from 7 to 13 June 2026.

“The European energy transition needs engineers who think beyond their university. Be one of them,” say organisers Leul Zewdie and Florian Vetter from TU Darmstadt.

See firsthand how Europe is transforming its energy systems by joining this international energy excursion. The excursion will bring together students from Aalto University, TU Darmstadt, UPC Barcelona and TU Graz for a week-long trip through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Participants will visit leading energy companies, infrastructure projects, and political institutions, gaining practical insight into the technical, economic and policy dimensions of the energy transition.

The programme includes planned visits to major industry players such as Siemens Energy, as well as a stop at the European Commission in Brussels. Alongside site visits, students will engage in peer-to-peer learning and discussions, building an international network of future energy professionals. Social activities and pre- and post-event sessions will further strengthen collaboration and community-building among participants.

The excursion includes travel and accommodation for Aalto students.

This excursion is a seed-fund initiative supported by the Unite! Alliance and organised by master’s students across four partner universities.
