German as a foreign language – debating and discussion 1a and 1b
The focus of this course is verbal argumentation and discussion in German as a Foreign Language, including engaging in dialogue and conversation. Students will learn how to present themselves and their arguments verbally. Students will employ oral communication skills in exercises which lead specifically to effective presentation of arguments, including adding further arguments and effective listening. Students will engage in role plays, presentations and debate-discussion panels in pairs and groups to practise and improve their skills in various types of oral communication.

Courses are free of charge, fully online, 3ECTS.
Polish technical language II – Oral communication
This course is designed for students who already have a good knowledge of Polish either because it is their heritage language or have acquired a sufficient level from previous courses. Students will practice writing on technical/scientific subjects and formulating texts. Grammar and written expression will also be improved by practicing with various kinds of texts. Current texts and articles will be used and distributed in class. Students will write an exam at the end of the course.
Courses are free of charge, fully online, 3ECTS.
Megacities – virtual intercultural simulation game
The virtual intercultural simulation game Megacities takes place in cooperation with the Université de Grenoble and the Universidade de Lisboa. A simulation game is an experiential learning method whereby students experience interculturality through play in the context of internationality, multilingualism, virtuality and various cultures. Students will be encouraged to reflect on their own, often unconscious ideas of normality and thus deal constructively with foreignness and multilingualism.
In Megacities, teams from the three universities meet six times for a period of 2.5 hours each. The game will take place on Thursdays between 17:00 and 20:00 in the period from 24 April to 30 June 2023. Credits: 3ECTS
ELITE The Serious Play
Learn about communication strategies and leadership techniques to better work with people from different backgrounds and countries, especially online. Players will be evaluated and receive feedback on their choices pertaining to leadership, intercultural competence and 4 communication strategies.
