Space 21 is a cluster of bookable self-service spaces for the Aalto community. You can reserve a space for example for building prototypes or demos or for putting up exhibitions, events or performances. Experimentation is at the core of Space 21: trying out ideas, approaches and solutions.

Space 21 is a place for creative collaboration as well as sharing ideas and knowledge. Ideally it would bring people from different disciplines, levels and faculties together to learn from each other. Every member of Aalto community is welcome.

Space to turn ideas into reality

Space 21 promotes radical creativity, one of Aalto’s cross-cutting approaches. By providing free project spaces for all members of Aalto community, the university supports the growth of experimental culture, and makes room for radically new thinking and doing.

Currently there are first pilot users, and Space 21 will open its doors officially in Spring 2022. We follow current restrictions to ensure all users’ safety.

When the restrictions allow us all to return to campus again, Space 21 will open its doors and start operating at full steam. As soon as this happens, you are more than welcome to come and explore the spaces in person, have a cup of coffee and greet the team.

Welcome on board!

Theory U - How to lead from the future while it emerges?

Creative people, like artists and scientists, invent and create the new by stepping from the visible world into the invisible world of imagination, and then returning back into the visible. We all can develop our sensitivity, intuition and leadership capabilities to increase creativity.

Radical Creativity fostering re-thinking

Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn. But as the world is changing at a pace like never before, the most crucial skill may be the ability to think again and unlearn.
