Printing renewal: installation of new multifunction devices begins

The installation of the new Uniprint printing service on campus begins today, 4 November, 2024. The project will be completed during December 2024.

The old Canon system multifunction devices will be gradually phased out of use after the installations.

Use your Aalto username and password to log in to the multifunction device.

Mobile printing will be available on the old Canon devices in November and will migrate to the new Ricoh devices as installations progress. We will inform users when mobile printing moves to the Ricoh devices.

The installation of Uniprint printing service multifunction devices will proceed on campus building by building.

Before the installation begins in each building, Unigrafia will provide a detailed schedule directly to the building.

How does the new service work?

The new printing service operates on the same principle as the current service. Use your Aalto username and password to log in to the multifunction devices. After login, your personal print queue in the system opens.

Once the printing service is fully implemented, it can be also used by presenting a personal printing card to the multifunction device's reader. We will inform users once personal printing cards can be used for printing.

Mobile printing will be available on the old Canon devices in November and will migrate to the new Ricoh devices as installations progress. We will inform users when mobile printing moves to the new Ricoh devices.

What is the new print queue for the new service?

The new print queue will be automatically installed on Aalto University computers that are under centralized management. The path for the new print queue is \print.org.aalto.fi\AaltoPrint.

When will I receive more information about using the new service?
With the introduction of the new Uniprint printing system, the printer support services will be transferred to Unigrafia.

After the transition to the new printing service, Unigrafia will provide comprehensive instructions for Aalto University members on how to use the new service. You can also find usage instructions next to each multifunction device.
