Comment on Finnish national Open Science policy

The National Open Science and Research Coordination invites comments from the scientific community on two policies: 

• Policy for Open Scholarship (draft document) 
• Policy component for professional publications (draft document) 

Among the documents open for comment, the objectives and measures of the Open Scholarship policy are undergoing a revision round. The policy component for professional publications is entirely new, and in connection with it there is also an opportunity to comment on the shared introduction and glossary for the overall policy on open access to scholarly publications. 

The draft documents open for comment have been prepared by the policy working groups appointed by the expert groups on Open Scholarship and Open Access to Scholarly Publications. Based on the comments, the working groups will finalize the policies, which will then be approved by the steering group for the national coordination of open science and research. 

The consultation rounds are open to the entire research community, and responses can be submitted either by organizations or by individuals. In the spirit of open science, all responses received will be compiled and shared on a public platform. Anonymous responses will not be considered or published.
