Accenture has collaborated with the Aalto University School of Business and its various student groups for years and this partnership is a natural continuum.
As a global professional services company, Accenture brings a great addition to the partner companies of our School. Accenture’s knowledge of technology-driven business is highly appreciated, not only among their customers, but also our students. In addition, we share a similar goal in creating growth – for the society and organizations.
In Finland, Accenture has around 1100 professionals working with clients’ cases in all possible industries. The aim of this partnership is to make their work visible to our students: what are the skills needed, how does Accenture work and how to use the available technologies for business development. The collaboration in teaching, research and career-related issues gives us the possibility to do just that.
'Accenture’s innovation- and growth-driven way of thinking is just what we need to make sure that we don’t stop evolving. We appreciate the commitment Accenture is making and welcome them warmly to our network of partners’, says Timo Korkeamäki, Dean of the School of Business.
Students have appreciated Accenture’s long-standing participation in the Aalto Talent Expo and previous career fairs of our university, and many of our alumni have. The current CEO, Susanna Takkunen, has actually graduated from the School – first with a Master’s degree and later with a DBA from the Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development (Aalto EE). This is an excellent start to the Premium Partnership, as students already know about the company and its employment opportunities, but now have the opportunity to acquire a deeper knowledge of Accenture and its operations through projects and different career events.
The HR Director Rachel Mäkinen from Accenture points out: ‘This partnership lets us show students what meaningful, complex work actually looks like from the inside and being part of those moments when someone is figuring out what kind of professional they want to become.’
Through the School of Business Partnership Programme, companies get to engage in long-term collaboration with Aalto University in many different fields. Developing their employer brand, contributing to teaching, and cooperation in various projects are all examples of possible forms of cooperation. There are 10 companies involved with the programme at the moment.
