Buy books to your unit and the acquisition process will be taken care of for you. The invoice will be forwarded to the unit for payment and approval.
Aalto Direct: All-inclusive library resource delivery service
Aalto Direct delivers all materials you need for teaching and research quickly and directly to your internal Aalto mail address.
Make an orderIf the material you require is not in the Learning Centre’s collections, Aalto Direct can arrange an inter-library loan from other Finnish or international libraries, or purchase the item to our collection. The service is intended for research and work-related purposes within Aalto University.
Please note! Due to copyright restrictions, all articles are sent in print form by the library services.
Please note! Material that is on shelf (not on loan) in the Learning Centre collection can still be ordered via Aalto Direct, but requesting such material through Aalto-Primo is no longer possible.
You can return the materials you have borrowed to the Learning Centre, also via internal mail. Aalto Direct loans may also be renewed.
To qualify for free of charge Aalto Direct services you need:
- to be a member of Aalto University faculty,
- to have a library card (if you do not have one, you can pick up a library card from the Learning Centre customer service after activating your customer information in Aalto-Primo by signing in with your Aalto user credentials),
- to have an Aalto University internal mail address (P.O. box number).

Library card and borrowing
You need a valid library card to borrow and reserve printed materials from the Learning Centre. The library card is for personal use only and the as a customer you are always responsible for the materials borrowed with your card.
