Marsio Presents, 15 April 2026: Creative Teaching in the Age of AI

Join us at Marsio Presents: Creative Teaching in the Age of AI, a morning dedicated to exploring how pedagogy is evolving in a world of rapidly developing AI tools — and to connecting with colleagues across Aalto. Aalto University educators will share concrete experiences, practical experiments, and thoughtful reflections on integrating AI into teaching and learning, from course and assessment design to supporting students’ motivation. Come to get inspired, hear real examples, exchange ideas, and reflect together on what meaningful, responsible teaching can look like in the age of AI.

Welcome to the second Marsio Presents: Creative Teaching event, this time focusing on “Pedagogy in the Age of AI.” The event brings together Aalto University teachers to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping learning, course design, and teaching practices.

The event will be opened by Vice President Petri Suomala. Aalto educators, including Lauri Järvilehto (SCI), Mashrura Musharraf (ENG), Craig Carlson (ELEC) and Malka Gotthilf (Language Centre), will share short, experience-based presentations on how they are experimenting with and integrating AI into their teaching.

The programme features concise keynote-style talks that highlight concrete examples, challenges, and solutions related to AI in teaching. These presentations will be followed by thematic dialogue tracks, where participants can reflect on the themes together—for instance:

  • what learning, educational planning, and teaching mean in the age of AI
  • what kinds of competencies teachers need to stay relevant as supporters of learning
  • what ethical questions AI raises in education
  • how to support students’ motivation to learn when AI tools are widely available

A light breakfast with coffee and tea will be served at the beginning of the event. To help us plan the catering, we kindly ask you to register in advance.
