Human Centric Technology
The research area focuses on technology aiming to augment human capabilities and assist them in everyday activities. We address this goal by studying, e.g., methods for computational design, speech interaction, audiovisual headsets, and wearable computing. Our research teams study human perception to create better algorithms to model and simulate human behavior. Our research is seeking sustainable solutions for global grand challenges.
Application areas include AI optimized user interfaces, AR/VR technology, spatial sound capturing and rendering, audio and music processing, as well as automatic speech recognition, understanding and production, not to forget speech privacy.

The research area focuses on communications and networked systems. The research area takes particular pride in deploying and developing hardware and software implementations.
The research groups contribute solving grand societal challenges and support several UN sustainable development goals, particularly in areas of sustainable ICT, resilience and cyber-security.
Fundamentals of Information and Communications Engineering
The research area focuses on on fundamental methods, such as information and communication theory, signal processing, optimization, detection and estimation theory, and machine learning, multisensor systems, adaptive systems. In particular, biosignal processing and biomedical imaging, statistical signal processing, radar, sensor networks, multiantenna communications, RF sensing, wireless localization, defense and security.
