Social program briefly
The extracurricular programme at Aalto University Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for course participants to build relationships with fellow students while exploring Aalto University and the Helsinki region.
The summer school social program includes several events that are free for participants. Our dedicated Program Assistants will plan the events in the beginning of summer 2026.
Examples from 2025:
- Welcome Event: City Centre – A fun scavenger hunt followed by a picnic.
- Welcome Event: Suomenlinna Sea Fortress – A visit to a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a picnic and games.
- Surprise Events – Attending some of Helsinki’s best summer events, such as group museum visits and open-air concerts.
- Farewell Coffee – A relaxed gathering to wrap up your summer school experience
Please note that most free events require you to purchase your own HSL ticket for transportation.
In summer 2025, we offered Summer School students an opportunity to join a paid trip to the Nuuksio National Park.
How to sign up?
- The signup link will be emailed to confirmed students in June or early July 2026.
What is the deadline for signing up?
- The deadlines will be confirmed once the events are published.
