Summary of Aalto Talent Expo 2025
Aalto Talent Expo 2025 once again gathered students of arts, technology and business together with employers. This was the sixth time the event was organized, and as in the previous year it was held at Dipoli in Otaniemi. Talent Expo has firmly established itself as a popular meeting point - many exhibitors have participated since the very beginning, and each year we are pleased to welcome new employers to the fair as well.
This year, we paid special attention to the sound levels in the space and made several improvements to reduce noise in the exhibition area based on the feedback received. These included switching the fair walls to fabric, partially carpeting the area, and using molton partitions throughout the space. The improvements proved effective, but we will continue developing the event further to reduce noise levels.
As in previous years, virtual meetings also brought together a wide range of students and employers through the JobTeaser. During these sessions, students received tips and feedback on refining their CVs and LinkedIn profiles, improving their portfolios, and reflecting on their career paths through speed mentoring. For the first time, speed mentoring was also offered to doctoral students.
Marketing to employers typically begins in May and continues until the end of September, when registration closes. If you would like to join the event’s marketing mailing list and be among the first to hear when registration opens, you can do so here: Join the Aalto Talent Expo mailing list.
For students, the event is already familiar from previous years, and new students are introduced to Aalto Talent Expo at the very start of the academic year. The event is promoted to students digitally through newsletters and social media, as well as via a postcard mailed to their homes and the traditional annual marketing tour held in the lobbies of various buildings across the Otaniemi campus.

Color coding as a tool for connecting employers and students
Different colored stickers help employers identify the school of the students visiting their stand. Tailored fair signs in return help students find employers who were looking to hire students from the different Aalto schools. Additionally, employers could indicate if they were able to hire non-finnish speaking students and offer thesis assignments. The signs also indicate whether employers hire non-Finnish-speaking students and whether they offer thesis assigments. In addition, the signs show whether the company has suitable positions for doctoral students.
78% of students and 83% of employers found the methods for targeting to be working well at the event.
The most effective marketing channels
Among student marketing channels, the Aalto JobTeaser service (40%), email messages and newsletters (36%), and the aalto.fi website (29%) were the most effective in reaching students. Prints on campus (25%), word of mouth (20%), and postcards sent to students’ homes (20%) received also quite many mentions.
The Talent Expo Instagram account (13%), marketing by student associations (12%) and the lobby tour (8%) received fewer mentions.

This was our first time participating as a company and everything moved super smoothly. The communication was clear and on time, the organisers were always available when needing support or more information. We're super satisfied with the level of organization and how everything ran so effectively. - Exhibitor
It was such a great idea to use stickers with each booth to mark what schools and discipline the company is focused on. - Student
Lovely event, everything was organized really well and there were so many interesting companies there! - Student
The targeting and the icons displayed at the stands indicating who we are relevant for are a good idea. However, since most fields are quite broad and not all groups within a given study field are necessarily relevant to us, it is difficult to choose the right fields of study to display at our stand. We also do not want to exclude anyone, but this naturally results in many questions from students who may not be able to find employment with us at all. (translated from Finnish) – Exhibitor
Very interesting companies but mostly there to show themselves and offer summer trainee opportunities and not internship and master's thesis position. I had difficulties trying to find a company who was looking for external people to hire and evaluate your profile if you haven't already worked with them. - Student
- Student"Well organized, smoothly running, well labeled."
