Use of guild rooms

This guideline was revised on 14 October 2022 and is valid until further notice. Learning services is responsible for updating the content.

Use of guild rooms and other student-association spaces

  1. Guild members may use their guild rooms as necessary provided that they follow the university’s guidelines on campus facility use and safety. Guilds and student associations have a responsibility to consider the relevant use of the space with respect to their own activities. For the purpose of studying, it should be remembered that self-study spaces have been arranged on campus and are available through the booking system.
  2. Guild rooms are located in access control areas. All students have access to them during the opening hours of the building.
Basic members of every guild have access to control areas everyday from 7.00 to 22.00, except for any buildings that have their own special restrictions.  Guild and student association board members have 24/7 access. Guild and student association boards may also grant 24/7 access rights to up to 10 other persons. The boards of the guilds and student associations shall review and update their 24/7-access authorisations by the end of January every year and send the updated information to [email protected]
  3. The normal practice for guild rooms is not to accommodate the use of intoxicants. Please acquaint yourself thoroughly with the guidelines on organising events: Aalto University facility use and event security | Aalto University. Follow the guidelines and take care of any necessary planning well ahead of time!
  4. The guilds and student associations are responsible for the safe and healthy use of their spaces.
