Teaching at Aalto University is implemented mainly on campus, therefore you are expected to arrive in Finland and have residence here for the duration of your studies.
If you are fleeing the Russian attack on Ukraine, you can apply for temporary protection or asylum. If you hold a biometric Ukrainian passport, you can stay in Finland for a period of three months visa-free. If you are applying for temporary protection or asylum, accommodation can be provided for you at a reception centre. Please find more information on Immigration Office's website.
If you have a non-degree study right at Aalto University, you can apply for a standard student acccommodation (non-furnished) from the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region (HOAS) by completing the application form from the link given below.
Please note that you will need to add the following disclaimer to the beginning of your housing application: "I am a Ukrainian non-degree student at Aalto University and request that my application is processed as a matter of urgency"
This way the housing provider is able to prioritise your application and give you a fast service. If you encounter any problems, please let us know and we will try to help you as far as possible.
Here is the direct link to the housing application.
In addition, there are other options where you can apply for accommodation. Please see the following websites for more information about accommodation possibilities for Ukrainians:

- Aalto Marketplace (you are able to leave comments after you have activated your Aalto IT account)
Unfortunately, Aalto University does not own student apartments and therefore, is not able to provide housing for you.
