Remote connection to Aalto's network - VPN
People at Aalto, i.e. those with an Aalto user ID, can connect their devices to Aalto University’s network outside of the network, by means of the Cisco VPN service. This helps them, for example, use the network’s internal services and read files stored on Aalto’s network disk.

When using a VPN connection, all of the device’s online activity is conducted via the university’s servers, which may restrict or slow down the use of local online services.
A personal device does not provide access to all of Aalto’s internal services, such as administrative or financial services.
A functioning VPN connection can only be established through the Cisco VPN.
