The School of Electrical Engineering offers teaching in the following master's degree programmes. All our master's degree programmes are international and taught in English. The next application period to our master's programmes is 28 November 2024 – 27 December 2024.
The major in Acoustics and Audio Technology equips students with a fundamental understanding of human hearing, audio perception, and physics of sound. The skills they acquire enable, for example, reducing noise pollution, planning harmonic environments and designing coherent sound experiences.
The Master’s Programme in Automation and Electrical Engineering prepares its graduates to perform in the intersection between hardware and software, ranging from the fields of Electrical Engineering and Energy sectors to Biomedical Engineering, Control Engineering and Robotics. Drawing from extensive research and fundamental theories in mathematical and natural sciences, the programme focuses on the applicable side of technologies, including topics like Autonomous Systems, Health Technology, Smart Grids and Renewable Energy Solutions.

IDBM is uniquely positioned as the only programme offered in all six schools of Aalto, allowing programme graduates to earn a Master’s degree in either business, design or technology.
The Master's Programme in Life Science Technologies educates a new generation of engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs who are committed to improving human health and wellbeing through development of innovative scientific and engineering solutions. From self-driving cars to robotic assistants, the Internet of Things, and AI-based software solutions – the future is autonomous. However, as an emerging technology, autonomous systems hold both opportunities and risks. The key to navigating this potential minefield is to not only understand the technology itself but, more importantly, be able to confidently evaluate autonomous processes and maximise the trade-off between business impact and resources spent.
SpaceMaster V is a continuation of the original Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programmes launched in 2004 and implemented by a consortium of leading European universities in close collaboration with research and industrial organizations.
SSIs is a two-year joint master programme, with full student mobility between Aalto University, University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) and Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) with leading expertise in the academic fields of Smart Systems and Microsystems Technology.
The Communications and Data Science Double Degree Programme covers a range of timely, industry topics relevant to modern fields of engineering.
