Two University Lecturer or Senior University Lecturer (permanent) positions in International Business

We are now looking for two University Lecturers or Senior University Lecturers to teach, inspire and support our students in our undergraduate and graduate programs. We may hire multiple lecturers in the positions within the International Business Unit at the Department of Management Studies. We are looking for individuals who can guide our students in developing strategic and managerial capabilities needed to succeed in an increasingly complex and culturally diverse global environment. In this role you will have a chance to make an impact by empowering students to explore their international potential and develop creative and entrepreneurial mindsets. Through engaging learning experiences and collaborations with companies, you will help shape the next generation of international leaders.

Your role and goals

The ideal candidate would be someone who meets the below criteria, especially through showing experience in international business research, personal international experience, as well as university-related teaching experience in the field of international business. We are open to a variety of focus areas in your teaching and research within and beyond international business and international management.

The successful applicant can demonstrate the ability to

  • deliver high-quality teaching in different areas of international business, with a specific focus on our renewed International Business BSc program
  • design and develop educational materials and offerings at a course, module or program level
  • stay on the forefront of AI based and other learning innovations to support student learning
  • supervise undergraduate and graduate students’ thesis work
  • foster connections between our student community and international companies and organizations in Finland and elsewhere
  • carry out high-quality academic research
  • work effectively in a team and communicate fluently in English, both orally and in writing
  • participate in strategic decision-making and administrative tasks in the International Business Unit and the Department of Management Studies
  • promote Aalto University’s educational and academic reputation

Preference is for applicants who hold a doctorate or are working towards one, which can be from any of a number of disciplines provided that the candidate’s teaching expertise and focus lies clearly in international business / management. Employment duties need to be performed in Finland.

What we offer

Permanent and full-time position, which will be filled at either University Lecturer or Senior University Lecturer level. The selected candidate is expected to start the position on August 1, 2026, but an earlier or later starting date is negotiable. The position comes with a competitive salary that is determined based on experience and qualifications of chosen candidate according to the salary system of Aalto University. In addition, Aalto University provides its employees with occupational health care services and retirement benefits.

About us

The unit of International Business strives to be the leading International Business unit in Europe. Our teaching focuses on developing strategic and managerial capabilities needed to succeed in an increasingly complex and culturally diverse global environment. We offer Bachelor’s Program in International Business, Master’s Program in International Management (including CEMS MiM), and Doctoral Program. All the programs are taught entirely in English with real-life teaching cases and engagement of international business professionals. We continue developing innovative teaching in International Business, always seeking student learning and real-life impact.

We carry out high-quality research in the broad fields of International Business and Management, with publications in top-ranked academic journals. We encourage strong international cooperation among scholars, and an open, cooperative atmosphere within the community of IB faculty and students. We also host the Qual+ Center for Qualitative Management Research which advances greater cooperation and capacity building around topics of qualitative methodologies within the School of Business at Aalto, and leverages Aalto’s world class qualitative research skills internationally.

About recruitment process

Only applications submitted through Workday will be considered. We will start evaluation process in March right after the application period has expired. From the applicants in the first phase, Aalto University will select candidates to continue in the process. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an onsite teaching demonstration and an interview, which will take place in April-May.
