Planning Officer

Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering learning services is looking for

PLANNING OFFICER

for a fixed-term position to coordinate a master's programme implemented in international cooperation.

The Master's Programme in Communications and Data Science is an Erasmus Mundus-funded international joint degree programme implemented by five universities, with the Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering acting as the main coordinator. As a planning officer, you will act as the administrative coordinator of the programme and as a partner of the programme director, responsible for the smooth administration of the programme and the implementation of student services and student admissions.

Your tasks include:

  • Coordination and development of the student selection process
  • Coordination of the collaboration between the partner universities and coordination of the work of the programme steering group
  • Guidance and advice for students and applicants
  • Scholarship management
  • Budget monitoring with the programme director and the financial services
  • Small-scale procurements and event arrangements related to the programme

In accordance with the annual clock, the winter and spring terms focus on tasks related to student admissions, while in the autumn, tasks related to student services and programme development are emphasized. Depending on the previous competence of the person to be selected, the position may also include other expert tasks in international joint degree education.

The position is part of the team responsible for master's studies at the Learning Services of the School of Electrical Engineering's. As part of the team, the planning officer also participates in the planning and implementation of the general services for master’s students (e.g. orientation for new students).

What we are looking for

We are looking for a bold and self-motivated person who can work under pressure with tasks that require precision but also takes responsibility for large entities. You are curious and adaptable to new situations and tasks.

Previous experience in EU-funded educational projects and tasks in an international operating environment is an advantage. In addition, we hope that you have previous work experience in Finnish higher education administration or in administrative tasks, such as application processing, in other Finnish authorities.

You will work in a multicultural work environment where fluent oral and written English skills are essential. The main working language of the position is English. A basic working knowledge of Finnish is an advantage in the position. We value versatile communication skills. In addition, we hope that you have good IT skills and are fluent in mastering new information systems. Previous knowledge of information systems (study registers, application or document systems such as Sisu, Studyinfo, Salesforce or similar) is an advantage. In terms of educational background, a master's degree is required.

Aalto University provides flexible working hours and supports a hybrid work model. The workplace is located on the developing campus of Otaniemi with excellent services and public transport connections.

The employment relationship is fixed-term until the end of August 2027. The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system used at Aalto University. The salary range for this position is approximately 3700-4000 €/month, depending on the experience of the person to be selected. We hope you can start on 1.6.2026 or as agreed (but not later).
