Staff and students recognised at School of Engineering Awards 2026

Awards honoured the finest publications and doctoral theses of the year, active students and notable achievements by school personnel in the realms of education, impact, and service.

Dean Kari Tammi hosted ENG Awards at the Stage in the Viima building.

Dean Kari Tammi of the School of Engineering hosted the annual ENG Awards on 5 March 2026. The event included the dean's annual review of the previous year and the recognition of people working in the school for their notable achievements. This year, ENG Awards was held at the Stage in the Viima building in Otaniemi.

Awards handed out in the event honoured the finest publications and doctoral theses of the year, students who made special efforts to help keep the school's education running smoothly, and notable achievements by school personnel in the realms of education, impact, and service.

Dean Tammi also presented Professor Aki Ekroos with his Independence Day decoration, granted by the President of the Republic, while representatives of the Metex Fund were on hand to present the Metex Prize for an outstanding master's thesis in the field of machine design.
