Sisu updates data on active students having national learner IDs

Sisu updates students’ personal information with such data as given and family names, municipality of residence, nationality, mother tongue, and national learner ID data.

When information on active students changes in the national learner ID register (maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education), that information is the updated in Sisu daily. In addition to national learner ID data, students’ personal information is updated with data on their given names, family name,s municipality of residence, nationality and mother tongue. The information in the register is based on Digital and Population Data Services Agency data. 

The following requirements must be met in order for the national learner ID and information to be updated in Sisu: 

  • The student must have an active study right and, if required for the study right, the student must be enrolled as attending or nonattending.
  • The student’s personal identity code, given name, family name and nationalityinformation must be entered in Sisu.
  • The student must not be marked as deceased in Sisu or as deactivated (passivoitu) in the national learner ID register.
