School of Chemical Engineering doctoral researchers win first and second prize in MWP Young Researchers’ Challenge
The Young Researchers’ Challenge invites young researchers to present their research and explain its potential impact on the forest-based industry, and society as a whole.
Elijah Garcia’s research focused on Upscaling the conversion of lignin into functional materials through reactive extrusion. Emily Hart’s research, Water-Repellent Textile Fibres from Wood, explored another approach to developing new materials from wood.
Each year, the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation organises events for young researchers to stimulate collaboration, inspire research and create networking opportunities.
The young researchers invited to the 2026 Marcus Wallenberg Prize Event in Stockholm represent eight countries: Canada, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Brazil, Switzerland and South Africa.
Congratulations to Elijah Mark Garcia and Emily Hart on this excellent achievement!
