Aalto Inventors is an innovation programme for researchers, especially doctoral and postdoctoral, who want explore the commercial potential of their research. No prior business background or ready inventions are needed to join.

Next spring, three cohorts will run: Medtech, Energy systems, and Water management and resilient infrastructure.

Each cohort is tailored to fit the participants and bring you the best knowledge and connections. Sessions cover topics like patenting, communications, industry networking, customer discovery, startup insights, funding and pitching. You will gain widely applicable skills to benefit your future career.

Visiting experts from industry, academia and startups let you build a curated, highly relevant network. Previously we’ve had speakers like Mikko Möttönen from IQM, Outi Ervasti from Neste, Olli Sipilä from Gasgrid Finland, Mika Anttonen from St1, Reetta Strengel from Kemira, Monika Liikamaa from Lignum Medical, Ville Voipio from Vaisala, Virpi Muhonen from Askel Healthcare and so many more sharing what you can't google.

In addition, you will get to know new peers, other innovative researchers, across departments or even universities. Put what you learn into practice immediately during the program by building a research-based innovation case in a team and craft a compelling final pitch to a panel of investors and industry experts.
