Nokian Tyres donates EUR 200,000 to the School of Business
Nokian Tyres’ Board of Directors has decided to donate EUR 200,000 to Aalto University School of Business to be used as Nokian Tyres and Jukka Moisio scholarships for masters students going on exchange programs abroad.
Nokian Tyres’ President and CEO Jukka Moisio has notified the company's Board of Directors of his plans to retire or at least step away from his daily duties as President and CEO, by the end of the year 2024.
‘When asked Jukka Moisio how he would like us to acknowledge his successful career in the company's management, he expressed the wish that we could support the international education of the young generation in Finland. Therefore, Nokian Tyres has decided to donate a total of EUR 200,000 to the School of Business to be used as Nokian Tyres and Jukka Moisio scholarships for masters students going on exchange programs abroad. It is Jukka’s and our kind of a gift to the Finland we believe in and the direction we want to take,’ says Jukka Hienonen, Chair of Nokian Tyres' Board of Directors in the press release.
Dean Timo Korkeamäki thanks Nokian Tyres and Jukka Moisio for the donation. ‘Business students are highly motivated to study a part of their degree on exchange and it is always a pity if they cannot do so due to financial challenges. International experience is regarded by our School as well as our students as an important part of their degree. A warm thank you for the significant donation which supports our international student mobility very well.’
