MOVING INFORMATION: Learning Centre brings university library services under one roof

Welcome to the Learning Centre (Otaniementie 9), opening Monday 31st October 2016 9am.

The building designed by Alvar Aalto and completed in 1970 will now reopen as Aalto University’s new Learning Centre. The building is modernised during refurbishment in full appreciation of its architectural heritage to meet the requirements of customers and staff.

In our new premises you will experience the ambiance and pulse of the whole campus in a single location. Here you will find space for studying, working, different kinds of meetings or for sheer relaxation. Robert’s Coffee provides a rendezvous point offering coffee and sweet and savoury goodies.

We offer some new services in addition to services already familiar to our customers including the Visual Resource Centre (VRC).The VRC service supports visual literacy at Aalto University, i.e. the skills to effectively find, evaluate, ethically use and create visual resources and media.

Opening times from 31.10.2016:

  • Learning Centre is open in its entirety during service hours Mon-Thu 9-20, Fri 9-18, Sat 10-15.
  • The first floor Tori and the lower floor K are open every day 7-24, and the 24/7 space is always open.
  • Outside the service hours only Aalto University students can enter the premises with an access card.
