Electric vehicle charging options on the campus are improving with the addition of ten new charging stations. The chargers are located in the parking areas of Kemistintie 1 and Vuorimiehentie 2.

Eaton Electric Oy has donated ten Green Motion Building EV charging stations to Aalto University. The chargers have been installed at the parking areas of Kemistintie 1 (between sections B and C) and Vuorimiehentie 2 (on the wall next to the main entrance), five units at each location. The charging stations operate with a Type 2 connector and support charging speeds up to 11-22 kW.

The charging stations are equipped with fixed charging cables, so there is no need to use your own. After charging, the cable must be placed on the designated holder to keep it neat and safely ready for the next user.

The chargers are operated by KotiCharge, which offers electricity with dynamic pricing. The hourly rates, based on the spot price of electricity, can be found in the KotiCharge mobile app.

Both the app and charging instructions can be found on QR codes attached to the chargers. With the KotiCharge app, electric cars can also be charged from one of the previously installed chargers in the car park on Sähkömiehentie 4.

Parking at the new electric car charging stations requires an Aalto University parking permit.
