Joel Kallio joined Research Services as Information Specialist

Joel Kallio has started as Information Specialist at the Aalto University Research Services' Open Science and ACRIS team.

Joel Kallio started working in Research Services' in May 2026.

Kallio is the new Open Science and ACRIS team's school liaison for the School of Business replacing the recently retired Information Specialist Leena Rantamäki. Kallio's role includes validating the School of Business' research outputs in the university's information system, ACRIS, and partaking in research data management and open access publishing support services.

Kallio holds a Master's in Social Sciences and is also currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences at Tampere University. He has previously worked at the Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD) and has experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data. Kallio brings the team valuable expertise in particular in handling personal data and anonymisation.

In his free time, Kallio enjoys spending time in nature and sweating in the sauna.
