Art students and alumni from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture and UniArts are organizing an Art For All Festival in Helsinki's Kalasatama  25.-27.8.2023. The cross-artistic festival features pieces from performing arts to installations and audiovisual works. There is an open call for artists to participate in the festival. Applicants can submit their proposals until 12.6.2023.

Art For All ry is a community of artists that aims to strengthen cross-artistic collaboration, support artists in the beginning of their careers and promote accessibility of art. The organization was started by art students and alumni from both the University of the Arts and Aalto University.

Festival's theme this year is "Invitation", reflecting on our understanding of home, the social and personal spaces, and the interactions within the spaces we live in. The event takes place in the common spaces and courtyards of the residential buildings of Kalasatama, filling them with art for a weekend. The event is organized in collaboration with HEKA Oy, Setlementtiasunnot, NAL-asunnot and Artist House Ars Longa. The festival has been planned in collaboration with the local residents.

Open call for artists

Art For All is organizing an open call for artists to contribute to the festival. The artists will be selected after the deadline on the 12.6.2023 and in August they will take part in a residency in Kalasatama, Helsinki. The artists will take part in a residency and work and build up their pieces at the festival venue during 19.8.–24.8.2023. The artists will be provided with working spaces as well as technical and curatorial support. The working process of the artists is an important part of the event. At the residency the artists will learn from each other and the local residents.
