2 027 new students were admitted to Aalto’s Finnish and Swedish bachelor’s programmes. 1 489 of the new students were chosen for the field of technology, 379 for business and 159 for the arts.

'My warmest congratulations to all new students and welcome to the Aalto community! See you on campus next autumn!' says Vice President for Education Petri Suomala

Both the technology and the business field admit students based on their grades in the national matriculation exams. In the field of technology, 80% of the new students were admitted based on their grades, and in the field of business 60%. Part of the students are admitted based on their performance in the entrance exams.

My warmest congratulations to all new students and welcome to the Aalto community!

In addition to the spring joint application procedure, in the field of technology, 63 and in the field of business, 59 admitted students were selected through other admission procedures such as Open University track and the selection based on competitive performance. This year, 38 new students were admitted to the field of technology, and 28 for business, based on the Open University track. It is also possible to apply to some programmes through a transfer application procedure, which allows students to apply for a transfer to different school or study option. This year, 22 were admitted to Aalto through that procedure.

On 1 and 2 July 2024, Aalto University published the results of admissions to the bachelor’s programmes taught in Finnish and Swedish. Applicants can check their results on My Studyinfo at https://opintopolku.fi/oma-opintopolku/.

Open University track is an alternative to entrance exams and certificate-based admissions

Aalto University’s Open University offers studies for anyone who wants to take university courses. You can also apply for technology or business degree studies through the Open University track, so it can be an excellent alternative to admissions based on entrance exams and certificate-based admissions.

The fields of technology and business admit students based on their academic performance in Open University. The tracks are available for specific study options and registration is open year-round. The next opportunity to apply through the Open University track is during the autumn joint application procedure, which runs from 28 August to 11 September 2024 and is for the field of technology.
