Aalto University ranks 53rd globally for international outlook

Aalto is the most international university in Finland and ranks second in the Nordic countries
#53 ranking of most international universities by Times Higher Education 2026.

Aalto University placed 53rd in this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) ranking of the most international universities in the world, and it came second among Nordic universities. The THE listing is based on universities’ international student score, international staff score, international co-authorship score and international reputation. Last year, Aalto was ranked 51st. 

Topping the ranking was the City University of Hong Kong, while the highest-ranked Nordic university was Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology at 25th place.

Aalto University performs well in international university rankings. In subject-specific rankings, we place 9th globally in art & design and are in the top 100 in several other subjects.
