A! Walk-Nature Walk to Birdwatching Tower
Summer has arrived in Finland, filling the forests with life and color. Lily of the valley, dandelions, lilacs, lupines, and buttercups are in full bloom, while birds sing from the reed beds and dense woodlands. A group of nature lovers had a delightful walk from Aalto to the Laajalahti Birdwatching Tower to soak in the season’s beauty.
After a busy day, they met under a grand oak tree and embarked on their adventure. Strolling along forest paths, they enjoyed the natural surroundings, chatting with new friends and sharing their own stories with nature. At the birdwatching tower, with binoculars ready, they watched a family of geese wandering and foraging, and swans gracefully preening their feathers... The air was filled with the cheerful songs of birds returning to their nests, creating a lively yet serene atmosphere.
A! Walk
A! Walks is a summer course centered around walking-based learning, exploring Otaniemi campus and its surrounding urban–natural spaces. Rather than standalone lectures or experiments, the program is designed as a curated sequence of sensory, interdisciplinary walks, guiding participants toward experiences in coexistence, awareness, action, and futures. If successful, A! Walks may be continued during the regular semester.
